There's a certain element of authentic Jewish roots here, owned by the Jaffe family, which ran a long-time authentic Jewish deli at Coolidge Corner.
The food is good and plentiful, and service is pleasant, despite the noise and crowds.
But there are intrusions of modernity on the deli's menu, like the ham sandwich and various trendy foods. You may well find these intrusions welcome. But the seeker of authenticity should head down Harvard Street to Rubin's.
