mildly amusing, hardly alternative
By joe blow
The Dig seems to have an editorial rule that the F-bomb must be dropped at least once in every published story. Beyond that it rarely if ever rocks the boat on anything. Writing about sex is about as mainstream and as cynical as you can get. Everybody from Rupert Murdoch to Howard Stern knows that wrapping sex around merchandise is a great way to sell product.
Reporting on the evidence of a 9/11 coverup, or reporting on electronic voting and election fraud: now that's some "alternative" for you.

pseudo alternative
By Sanjay Gupta
this publication is mildly amusing from time to time but is mainly self-congratulatory and juvenile, tryiny too hard to be "alternative."
