Blizzard of 78

That was the final straw for my life in Boston--I headed to Ft. Lauderdale before the first snow in 1979.
I lived in Winthrop at the time of the blizzard. I am a nurse--we were transported to Winthrop Community Hospital by Army trucks.
There were some fun times at the hospital during that storm--women ready for delivery were transported to the hospital on snowmobiles.
The hospital did not offer delivery services, so we improvised and turned the OR into a Delivery Room.
We used dresser drawers instead of basinets.
Live is much easier in a warm climate. I have no regrets.
I still come back home every year for the Boston Marathon
