It is amazing that the Royal Governor did not station a military guard of the soldiers quartered in the nearby barracks at the wharf to protect the shipments when he knew the colonists had protested their arrival. It is as if he was daring them to do something drastic as a proof of their rebelliousness as an excuse to use heavy force later on.
