Not strictly speaking an art museum, the old wing of the main branch at Copley Square features a beautiful statue garden as well as a number of murals. Don't miss the main staircase in the old building. There is no truth to the rumor that an old lady once got lost and died while trying to navigate the intricate hallways between the old and new buildings. On Boylston Street in the Back Bay (take the Green Line to Copley or the Orange Line to Back Bay).
