Looks like Texas has the simplest seal design; which might explain why the reverse side looks like this (more info here): Sigs are overrated.

Newstead Montegrade? *~*~*~* Luceo non uro

Nope, since Newstead Montegrade is within Boston City limits, its out. Funny though, being that this is the Marshfield Fair thread that Marshfield would have been an EXCELLENT choice, though that too would have been wrong.

Is it in MA?
By triquetra - Aug 22, 2005, 9:40 PM Post #58 of 75 [In reply to]
It could be an independently incorporated community within a larger community, though. The town of University Heights is totally surrounded by Iowa City, but refuses to let Iowa City annex it. I don't know why. It was terribly annoying not to be able to have a public library card without paying $75 for it. *~*~*~* Luceo non uro

Columbus, Ohio where I grew up, surrounds a couple of towns like that. But there must have been some reciprocal arrangement, because I was able to get library cards for both Columbus and Bexley -- and Bexley's was much better than the local branch of Columbus's library. (Not only that, but it's open on Sundays, all year round. And the microfilm readers are in much better condition than anything I've seen in or around Boston.)

University Heights isn't big enough to have its own library. The business district has a dentist and a gourmet foods store; there's a Methodist church, and two police cars. I assume there are also two police officers (one known as "Officer Butterball"). The rest is all residences. I only moved there because it was so difficult to find a place that allowed cats. Nice place overall, though. *~*~*~* Luceo non uro

Have you ever been to Carter Lake, Iowa? It is completely surrounded by Omaha, Nebraska. To get to Epply Arifield in Omaha, one must pass through about 2/10 of a mile of of Carter Lake, there are even "Welcome to Iowa" and "Welcome to Nebraska" signs on that stretch. The town is on what was once an oxbow on the Missouri River and when the river shifted, the town was cut off and surrounded by Nebraska.

I'm going to guess England, only because an Englishman penned it. Freedom of speech is wonderful - right up there with the freedom not to listen.

Yes it's in England, New England that is.

Is it in New Hampster?
By Sparky - Aug 23, 2005, 5:05 PM Post #66 of 75 [In reply to]
Yes it's somewhere in NH. Not Marshfield, NH though that would have been a good guess. If there was a Lake Chargoggagog-manchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg in NH, that too would have been a good guess.

Every state should have one.

Maybe Lake Boomchuggaluggalugga, NH? I need to go to bed now. Freedom of speech is wonderful - right up there with the freedom not to listen.

There was a man, and his name was Dob, And he had a wife, and her name was Mob, And he had a dog, and he called it Cob, And she had a cat, called Chitterabob. Cob, says Dob, Chitterabob, says Mob, Cob was Dob's dog, Chitterabob Mob's cat. *~*~*~* Luceo non uro
