Anyone out there who bought furniture from Bob's Furniture who is having a problem with it? I bought a livingroom set from them and it fell apart within 3 months and they refuse to exchange it or give me my money back. I heard a lot of bad things about them, but I was stupid enough to fall for their crappy ads. Anyone out there as stupid as me?

I'm not stupid enough to buy anything referred to as a "living room set," no. Sounds like something purchased in installments from Fingerhut. Of course it fell apart.
Oh, geesh!! Is that THE Bob's Furniture that they frequently advertise on the radio? If so(no doubt it could very well be), their advertising sounds too, too good to be true! A good outfit to keep away from, in my opinion.
O.K. YES, BOB'S FURNITURE IS EXTREMELY SHADY!! Stay away!! Stay away!! Stay away!! Stay away!!!!!!!! I bought furniture at Jordan's a few years ago and found out we overpayed through our teeth, so this time we decided to get what we thought was a "bargain." First of all, I think Bob's misrepresents their showroom furniture. In the store the stuff looks pretty good, and you think you are getting "quality". WRONG! Got it delivered...what a huge peice of crap!! NEVER EVER BUY NO NAME BRAND FURNITURE!!! Buy a reputable brand from a real furniture store. Again, not a store with fancy entertainment, like Jordan's. I don't need to overpay, so they can have a fancy store. Comparison shop please!!! Also, by the way, Bob's CRAP Furniture store employees are uneducated about furniture. Bob or whoever that guy is doing the commercials, is a moron and so are the people working there. Needless to say, our problems were never resolved and we ended up giving our furniture to a Women's shelter in Boston(but I'm sure it's fallen apart by now) Be educated! Family businesses are generally a good source for furniture. But don't overpay for fancy showrooms and rides and entertainment. I've been burned on both ends! Good Luck!!
Investigate local, family-owned stores. Let your fingers do the walking.
Thanks for the info, everybody!! My decision to stay the hell away from Shady Bob's Furniture has been re-inforced!!

I see those crappy, highly annoying adverts all the time whilst watching Red Sox games on MLB.TV over here in the UK. If that highly irritating peroxide tart who accompanies Bob into the TV studio to cut the adverts ever set foot in England I would hunt her down and finish her. 'No! No! No! Feel the leather! Have a seat!' she say's. 'No no no, feel the calbre, have a seat, get comfortable. Now I'm going to shoot you' I say.

HAHA sorry to hear that they have polluted the British airwaves with their crap, but retail furniture concerns here have a long history of bizarre, if not extremely irritating, commercials. I always thought that Bob's was a Greater Boston establishment until I saw one of their ads while staying with a friend in New York City last February.

I always thought Bob's was a Connecticut thing. Furniture retailers in New England are all messed up. We had Neal in Boston for a long time (whose catchphrase, "I DOUBT IT" has been picked up by Bob) only Neal went bankrupt after he got smacked with fraud charges for falsely advertising "Going Out Of Business" sales. Way to go, Neal!

What ever happend to 'Boston Scandals'? They specialized in Scandinavian furniture and had a store near the Burlington Mall.

Are you talking about "Form in Teak". That was a furniture store next to the Middlesex Mall in Burlington for years. I remember it when I was in elementary school and then noticing it after high school (well after the popularity of Scandinavian peaked) thinking "That place is still in business?". Apparently they're still in business. For some reason I associate Scandinavian furniture with unicorns and brown, yellow and orange rainbows (it was right next to Caldor, where my oldest sister worked in the early 1980s).

My daughter bought a dining room set from Bob's and has had nothing but praise for the way she was treated.the table they delivered got scratched in delivery,it was fixed, then there was a propblem with one of the legs it was replaced.then one of the chairs had a flaw. They came in and took the original set back and gave her another one to replace it.My son Fred bought a dining room set from them several years ago and hasn't had a problem with it.Their ads are almost as annoying as Bernie and Phyl's though. Trust in God and sin not.Don't blame me I'm like Sparky I voted for Sarah to.
It sounds like it's a matter of luck. Glad your son and daughter lucked out, Fred.
I have heard a lot of good things about Bernie and Phyls. I may try them next. What does everyone think about them??

While the dog grooming thread should be yanked ASAP imo, this thread starts out with a few ??????????, shares some experience, etc. I do disagree with it though because if you just watch the ads...............
