A mini Mini

Well, that was something! This morning on Rte. 9, I spotted what looked to be a baby Mini. Turned out to be a red (and black-roofed) Mini 1000, with the driver on the right side. I wonder what sort of gerbilpower it has?

As the name suggests, 1000 cc engine :)

Not much horsepower, I'd guess around 50bhp, but they don't really need it, they weigh nothing :)

I'm an expat Brit, and the older style mini is all over the UK :)

If you tried to drive this up Route 2 from Alewife to Arlington Heights, would you get there?

Ahh, the original Mini! A classic British Car. There are a bunch of those around here ... you just have to know where to look.

Can you buy them from anyone here? I'm assuming they are legal to drive.

Sure can. I thought about getting one last summer.

There are Mini Cooper car clubs where you can probably find out where some are being sold.

I owned a Mini for some time last year and absolutely LOVED it.

I will always be a Mini Lover (Oy! Anyone with elementrary knowledge of a certain Indian language will find that statement hilarious...)
