wasn't the MTV Real World Boston show quite a few years ago? I didn't think they had returned here for a second season.

MTV is flying a friend to LA for an interview re: Real World. I hope he gets on the show. Don't think he'll last very long. He is always putting both feet in his mouth. He looks funny using his ass cheeks to walk!

Hey! Very busy at school?
By Kingdafy - Feb 25, 2004, 10:31 PM Post #63 of 83 [In reply to]
Between school, job hunting (I finally found one today), and my girlfriend, I've been too busy to even call up my friends and ask how they're doing. I've been spending almost 40 hours a week at school. Now that I actually have a job again, I'll be even busier.

Congratulations and welcome back. What's the new job?
By Kingdafy - Feb 26, 2004, 10:44 AM Post #65 of 83 [In reply to]
I'll be working as a part-time security guard at a well known Boston institution... I guess I'll basically be protecting rich people from terrorists.

Oh, so you're at the Ritz?

Nope... the BSE.

Welcome back! How's school going? The BSE? Think they might want to change their acronym? Anybody remember Ayds diet candy?

Don't have a cow over it, man.

School has been frustrating, mainly because I'm too poor to buy a lot of photo supplies. I use a lot of 4x5 Polaroids and they cost $55 for a pack of 20. I can get them cheaper online, but every time I order something it ends up being lost or stolen.
By Ron Newman - Feb 26, 2004, 11:58 AM Post #71 of 83 [In reply to]
Can you use a digital camera instead? I didn't realize Polaroid cameras and film were still made.
By Kingdafy - Feb 26, 2004, 12:35 PM Post #72 of 83 [In reply to]
I can't use a digital camera. Digital and film are very different. The reason I use Polaroid is to check my lighting and exposure before I use a film negative to take the picture. Polaroid is still widely used in professional photography, but it's not cheap.

I found that out when visiting NESOP! Learning can be very expensive. Hopefully, it'll pay off someday!
By Kingdafy - Feb 26, 2004, 10:57 PM Post #74 of 83 [In reply to]
I hope it pays off too... but from what I hear, only 10% of photographers get a job right out of school. Hopefully I'll be one of the 10%. There's a lot of people who are completely against digital and refuse to use it... and to them I say good, don't do digital, then I'll get more jobs than you will since everything is going digital now. Since I started school in October, Kodak has discontinued non-digital slide projectors, disposable cameras, Tech-Pan film, and their entire Advantix system. And last year was the first year that digital camera sales were higher than film camera sales.

I think Kodak discontinued non-disposable film cameras, not disposable ones. I still see the disposable ones in stores.
