Best area to live in Boston area

My wife and I are relocating from the UK to Boston . We are looking for a nice area to live that is commutable to Wayland and Peabody (as I am working in Wayland and my wife in Peabody ) . We are looking for somewhere safe , picturesque and close to a town/village . Can anybody suggest a couple of areas ?
