Gov. DeVal making budget cuts? (!)

Deval Patrick is actually taking measures towards cutting spending?! I'm shocked. If this is not all smoke & mirrors, I'll be very impressed with him. He'd have come a long way since buying the new Cadillac and those fancy curtains for his office. But the devil will be in the details, so we'll see.

It could be that he's just setting the stage for a future push for his casino pet project, as a means to replenish what he's cutting. But the very thought that anyone in power in Massachusetts is even talking about fiscal responsibility is heartening, at least....if it's true.

Well, it's not like he has much choice, what with state revenues coming in $200 million less than budgeted in September.

What about all the months the flow was much higher than projected?

Many others in power would simply raise taxes.

He can't or at least he promisede he wouldn't.What about the billions in the rainy day fund he bragged about.

That didn't stop George "Read My Lips" Bush Sr and others from going back on their word. And I don't think Patrick ever promised he wouldn't, either ...

He most certainly did not just once but on numerous occasions.Of course if you remember he was the mouthpiece for Ameriquest the scam artists ,before he cionned his way into the Statehouse.

I'd like to see the exact quote. I'm almost certain he never made a promise like that.

In fact, I think he said he wouldn't rule it out.

Fred, Obama Jr is just afraid folks might just abolish the income tax in November - time to scare the folks.
