Deval Patrick is actually taking measures towards cutting spending?! I'm shocked. If this is not all smoke & mirrors, I'll be very impressed with him. He'd have come a long way since buying the new Cadillac and those fancy curtains for his office. But the devil will be in the details, so we'll see. It could be that he's just setting the stage for a future push for his casino pet project, as a means to replenish what he's cutting. But the very thought that anyone in power in Massachusetts is even talking about fiscal responsibility is heartening, at least....if it's true. ------------------------- Life is....a Simpsons episode

Well, it's not like he has much choice, what with state revenues coming in $200 million less than budgeted in September.
