I'm two years out of college, 25yrs old and just got a job in Cambridge (I'm originally from Pittsburgh). Where can I find a place around (or in) Cambridge where I can enjoy a "city lifestyle" (bars, clubs, resturants, new urbanism) and be surrounded by other young professionals. I will be making mid 40's and would prefer to rent a safe place around $800. Any sugestions, comments, thoughts! Thanks for your help!!

Up your price or you're going to be sorely disappointed and unhappy. For around $1000 you can find a decent studio, but your living space will be pretty small. Or find a roomate to split the cost with, as you can get something decent for $1600. Central in Cambridge is a good place though, so long as you avoid going too far towards the East Somerville side (Like prospect st and stuff). Cambridgeport is great, but more expensive. All neighborhoods have their good and bad parts.

"East Somerville" is nowhere near Central Square or Prospect Street. It's clear on the other side of McGrath Highway.
