I hear there's a restaurant down the North End offering three tripes.

...which is at least three more than is necessary.

Fred, you articulated that much better than I... Three is four too many.

Believe it or not the late Joe DiMaggio once called a restaurant I used to work at, two days in advance of his attending, and asked the owner/chef. He obliged, of course. Joe loved it. Yuck.

It's a rap thing, rappers from Boston talk about the three stripes a lot. That's why people in hoods in Boston wear Adidas a lot more than people elsewhere. I've heard that it's because, when you make a lower-case B (as in "Boston") with your hands, your middle, ring and pinky fingers come together in three stripes.

Seems odd to associate Boston with Adidas, when this area is actually the home of Reebok and New Balance.

See, but Adidas is cool. New Balance is also cool. Reeboks suck ass.

Yeah, and if people were to run around talking about NB this an NB that, it would be confused with rivals in New Bedford

1. This thread is silly.
2. This thread is full of puns.
3. I never heard of that phrase before.

Anyway, those are my three gripes.

Well -- unless we have some really unseasonably warm weather -- I won't be wearing my wooden geta much until next summer (except to rush our elderly dog out into our back yard).

Not sure I would recognize eeka in the real world -- based on her iconic photo here. ;~}

I'm used to it. It's kind of handy in some ways. ;~}

I especially like the clomping noise these Japanese wooden sandals make -- but they are not too useful for walking up steepish hills (or at least I haven't learned how to do it).

Not sure I can recall seeing you on the Orange Line -- but it is possible. Now if you actually wore that "hat"....
