Picking Sarah Palin McCain's choice of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his vice presidential pick in late August gave the Republicans an initial boost in the polls. It also helped energize the base, which, until then, had been cool to the senator's presidential bid. But once the media had the opportunity to interview the former beauty queen and small town mayor, her favourability ratings dropped dramatically. In an interview with ABC News, Palin appeared not to know what the "Bush Doctrine" is. Another television interview, this one with CBS, also didn't go well, with the governor often appearing confused about major issues and offering rambling, incoherent answers. The woman who had sold herself as just an "average hockey mom" also ended up in a minor scandal when it was revealed that the Republican Party paid US$150,000 to outfit the governor. But worst of all for McCain, more and more voters increasingly saw Palin as a liability. Independents, conservatives and even party faithful began to openly question the senator's judgment in picking a vice presidential candidate who appeared to be out of her depth in national and international affairs.

President Bush was/is so unpopular, he didn't show his face on the campaign trail. He, along with Palin, helped ruin any chances of a win. FINALLY, that village in Texas can have the idiot back. Maybe his librarian wife can teach him to speak coherently....... ugh, what a long, tiring embarrassment!

As I was saying... Note the date. See if you can think of a significant event that occurred subsequently. Note the author. See if you can think of the occupation of the author. The article is about a White House shift in missile defense policy with regards to the obsolescence of the ABM treaty in the post-Soviet era. Later usages of the term primarily dealt with how the US would shape its policies to deal with terrorist states. Note the fact that the link you provided does not even use the term. See if you can think of a reason that the Governor wanted Chuckie to clarify his question before launching into an answer.

No need to concentrate on Bush Doctrine now that we know that she doesn't know basic civics, couldn't name the 3 countries involved in NAFTA, thought Africa was a country, etc. I think a lot of you righties who occasionally seem worthy of some intellectual respect (Dave?) are really doing yourself a disservice defending this dumbass. she was a joke, and now that more stories are coming out, you should be grateful that she's not next in line for our leader. ie: Here’s how Newsweek described it: “After a minute, Palin sailed into the room wearing nothing but a towel, with another on her wet hair. An angry man wrote a letter to the editor here. "...I didn't vote for him and he will NOT be MY president Because I willnot aknowledge him as The president. He is just a man who was put in there and Race was a BIG Factor in this race." The editor replied. "Whether you "acknowledge" him or not matters to no one. You're not that important. Get over yourself." One more "shining" example of the mentality of hate and bigotry. It gets passed on by their "loved ones!"
