Hehe, so you admit Obama stands for jackshit, that he only won by tarring McCain as Bush, and in your opinion by picking Palin.
no, idiot. whenever there is incompetent competition, there's no race. I didn't say anything about standing for jackshit, tarring McCain.... your intuition is as good a Fred's!

Picking Sarah Palin McCain's choice of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his vice presidential pick in late August gave the Republicans an initial boost in the polls. It also helped energize the base, which, until then, had been cool to the senator's presidential bid. But once the media had the opportunity to interview the former beauty queen and small town mayor, her favourability ratings dropped dramatically. In an interview with ABC News, Palin appeared not to know what the "Bush Doctrine" is. Another television interview, this one with CBS, also didn't go well, with the governor often appearing confused about major issues and offering rambling, incoherent answers. The woman who had sold herself as just an "average hockey mom" also ended up in a minor scandal when it was revealed that the Republican Party paid US$150,000 to outfit the governor. But worst of all for McCain, more and more voters increasingly saw Palin as a liability. Independents, conservatives and even party faithful began to openly question the senator's judgment in picking a vice presidential candidate who appeared to be out of her depth in national and international affairs.

Careful where you step Sonia. It's knee-deep in sour grapes and someone full of it is trying to put words in your mouth. It's to be expected. Someone is pissing THEIR pants! I received some emails from those who thought Palin was a maverick!!! The rationale for losing is just as funny as SNL!

President Bush was/is so unpopular, he didn't show his face on the campaign trail. He, along with Palin, helped ruin any chances of a win. FINALLY, that village in Texas can have the idiot back. Maybe his librarian wife can teach him to speak coherently....... ugh, what a long, tiring embarrassment!

Seeing as how it's a term coined by the pundits and varies depending on who's doing the talking, this is perfectly understandable and she was trying to get Gibson to be more specific.

Bush's doctrine - as written (and phrased by Bush...who is a pundit????) http://www.whitehouse.gov/nsc/nssall.html No doctrine can anticipate every circumstance in which U.S. action—direct or indirect—is warranted. We have finite political, economic, and military resources to meet our global priorities. The United States will approach each case with these strategic principles in mind: The United States should invest time and resources into building international relationships and institutions that can help manage local crises when they emerge. The United States should be realistic about its ability to help those who are unwilling or unready to help themselves.Where and when people are ready to do their part, we will be willing to move decisively. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is critical because of the toll of human suffering, because of America’s close relationship with the state of Israel and key Arab states, and because of that region’s importance to other global priorities of the United States. There can be no peace for either side without freedom for both sides. America stands committed to an independent and democratic Palestine, living beside Israel in peace and security. Like all other people, Palestinians deserve a government that serves their interests and listens to their voices. The United States will continue to encourage all parties to step up to their responsibilities as we seek a just and comprehensive settlement to the conflict.... Our comprehensive strategy to combat WMD includes: Proactive counterproliferation efforts. We must deter and defend against the threat before it is unleashed. We must ensure that key capabilities—detection, active and passive defenses, and counterforce capabilities—are integrated into our defense transformation and our homeland security systems. Counterproliferation must also be integrated into the doctrine, training, and equipping of our forces and those of our allies to ensure that we can prevail in any conflict with WMD-armed adversaries. to sum it up - the doctrine - as named by Bush is: "The Bush Doctrine is we have the right to self-defense, pre-emptive strike against any country we think is going to attack us,"

As I was saying... Note the date. See if you can think of a significant event that occurred subsequently. Note the author. See if you can think of the occupation of the author. The article is about a White House shift in missile defense policy with regards to the obsolescence of the ABM treaty in the post-Soviet era. Later usages of the term primarily dealt with how the US would shape its policies to deal with terrorist states. Note the fact that the link you provided does not even use the term. See if you can think of a reason that the Governor wanted Chuckie to clarify his question before launching into an answer.

2002 - Bush it talks about WMD - a term way overused during the Saddam mess. It most certainly does mention the word "doctrine"

No need to concentrate on Bush Doctrine now that we know that she doesn't know basic civics, couldn't name the 3 countries involved in NAFTA, thought Africa was a country, etc. I think a lot of you righties who occasionally seem worthy of some intellectual respect (Dave?) are really doing yourself a disservice defending this dumbass. Sigs are overrated.

she was a joke, and now that more stories are coming out, you should be grateful that she's not next in line for our leader. ie: Here’s how Newsweek described it: “After a minute, Palin sailed into the room wearing nothing but a towel, with another on her wet hair. She told them to chat with her laconic husband, Todd. ‘I’ll be just a minute,’ she said.” There were strains between the McCain and Palin camps on the trail. Now that the election is over, the long knives have come out. http://blogs.reuters.com/trail08/2008/11/06/newsflash-sarah-palin-wearing-only-a-towel/

An angry man wrote a letter to the editor here. "...I didn't vote for him and he will NOT be MY president Because I willnot aknowledge him as The president. He is just a man who was put in there and Race was a BIG Factor in this race." The editor replied. "Whether you "acknowledge" him or not matters to no one. You're not that important. Get over yourself." One more "shining" example of the mentality of hate and bigotry. It gets passed on by their "loved ones!"
