I think only Frankie and Patti have been, right? I think Adam just strongly encouraged the others to find some other way to spend their time.

Hey Scott... Yeah I recall all that BS from the beginning of our having the Wicked Good Walks. From my side, it all began when I moved to New England. I found this great site and began discussing and planning photo walks to meet the good people from eastern Mass. Eventually there was someone coming in and heckling us. I recall inviting this shy person to join us, but that did not happen. Instead the heckling became severe to the point that we were called some very nasty things. Meanwhile ... back to the game! Bottom of the 8th, 9 - 5 Sox! Scott. Hope all is well with the family. I enjoyed the photo! Hopefully I'll be coming to N.England next year. I'd really like to see all the people I met at the WGC meets. It meant a lot to me. Great people!

you made Sparky, Fred, Scott, EJ et al fight with others? Just by moving here??
sounds like a note that would be better in an e-mail than on a forum, as it's directed to one person in particular...

Happy Halloween to you! Glad you had fun with my poor writing at a late hour. Actually the BS started when we were in to our second, maybe third walk. We had a nice group by then. My last walk was with Scott, Ron and Kingdafy. We toured Forest Hills Cemetery, stopped at Doyles for food and drink. Then we roamed Dorchester and Blue Hill Ave, where we were "dared" to go! Between Ron and Scott, who spent some of his youth there, I got a great education on the history of the neighborhood. And I had great times w/ Vikram, eeka, (accident next to Alewife!) LaDivina, Adam of course! And others at the "meets." Beanboy, etc. (Sweep tonight!?)

Oh, I figured Oracle and Genie were the same person (and by "person" I mean "Sparky").

Yes, it would be great to see you again, Ken. Let me know when you are coming. -------------------------------- Meeb shall return to us!!

Thanks! I'd enjoy walking the walk we did a few times, now that the Greenway is here. I'll never forget the ffrigid Big Dig walk that Ron and I braved! Everyone else had some kind of sense to stay indoors that Saturday. My son still visits to hang with friends in Cambridge and Cleveland Circle. Mebbe we can get him in the coordinates!

If you want a Greenway walk, probably better to wait until the spring. A fair amount of it is still fenced off for construction right now.

Hello - I've just joined but I've been reading the "So Don't I" site every time I need a big hearty laugh. I've scrolled through many of the threads and to be honest I don't see the nasty comments so I must be missing something. However, I agree with the idea of adding a few of the regulars as administrators so Adam doesn't have to carry the entire load. This site has the potential to be a big hit. I grew up in Lowell in the 60s and 70s, and it's great to read these words and the comments, so I'd like to see it kept going.

Alright, here's my current thinking (and no, don't worry, I haven't been agonizing over all this for the past two weeks; mostly just ignoring it): 1. Let's try the moderator route. Anybody who wants to get access to the Delete button, send me a note on why (adamg@gaffin.com). Warning: It can be a thankless job, but maybe I can come up with t-shirts or something. Who knows, if the forum takes off, even revenue sharing (no guarantees on that, however; traffic here is pretty low, as I've mentioned). 2. The Stupid Crap forum goes. With a moderator (moderators?) not afraid to just kill crap, there's no longer a need on this Boston site for a place for people to scream at each other. Go set up a booth at Park Street or something if you really want to do that.

good decisions! :)

1. I nominate Ron. 2. Yes, please kill it.

Oh, and will you put up some ground rules? The rules from the Davis Square community sound like good rules to steal. How about something like one delete per rule broken, then bannination for the second offense on the same rule?
By Ron Newman - Oct 31, 2007, 1:25 PM Post #94 of 151 [In reply to]
I decline the nomination because I think I have my hands full with Davis Square LiveJournal. Also I'd probably ban a lot of stuff that happens now and would make enemies of everyone here. Sorry.
By eeka - Oct 31, 2007, 1:39 PM Post #95 of 151 [In reply to]
A lot of stuff that happens here needs to be banned... Are you sure? You'd be such a great mod. And doesn't Davis Square LJ only get like 4 or 5 posts a day?
By Ron Newman - Oct 31, 2007, 1:48 PM Post #96 of 151 [In reply to]
But some of the stuff I would ban would get you upset, too. For instance, I don't think Miki should have been hounded out of here.
By Jodie - Oct 31, 2007, 1:52 PM Post #97 of 151 [In reply to]
Which is exactly why you'd be a great mod.
By Sarcastic Sam - Oct 31, 2007, 2:11 PM Post #98 of 151 [In reply to]
Don't worry about upsetting anyone Ron, you would be a great Moderator. Get this guy a T-shirt NOW!! ------------------------- Life is....a Simpsons episode

if he doesn't want to - don't pester... he'd be good, but doesn't sound like he's interested.

No, but she also shouldn't have gotten away with making homophobic slurs and calling people cuntweasels. Or telling people to die.
