You'd have to read the artlices Adam & others are referencing to get the satire/humor of the posts. When the headline is, "Giant Snails Attack" or a report on th emost toothless states... then, yes, one would be glad to be here, not there - and this is a Boston forum.

Agreed; you gotta know Adam and his Onionesque brand of sarcasm, plus his affinity for odd news. He definitely isn't one to pick on different places or classes or cultures with any seriousness. He's quite the open-minded one, really.

With the A capitalized? AAHAHAHA. Coriolanus makes me laugh, and it doesn't even have a capitalized A.

Well, hello, Gly. I am also quite disillusioned with this board. If you have found a place to have some discussions on nat'l politics, without reverting to personal attacks & mud- slinging,or sexual politics, please let me know!! I agree it is an insular board for the most part, reminding me at times of a high school clique.. I don't know why you were piqued by the 'Glad I don't live...' things; he never picked on Chicago, did he? I must correct your thinking on Boston: it is not merely the Athens of America, it is the hub of the universe. We just wandered into one of the broken spokes. I ,actually, have 'some association' with Tufts, which may account for my being miffed at your suggestion I find a Harvard board. Why you would think someone from Amherst or Clark would show up I don't know. Neither are in Boston last time I checked... As for Mark Twain (a fave of mine, not just as a writer but also because he left his books to start the library in my town---his summer home was about 1/2 mile from my house), I believe he also said that he didn't attend the funeral, but sent a nice letter saying he approved of it... I'm sure you meant to send flowers, so I will include your name in my condolence note. But please tell me where you post political stuff now. As for Sparky, all I can say is: reread "Animal Farm".

Let me summarize the timeline here: Scott threatened to find Sparky three years ago, using the information Sparky posted publicly. Frankie made an extremely rude comment about Sparky's son...well, at least over a year ago, since it was posted under Frankie's actual handle, not one of the many aliases he's used since. eeka posted Sparky's real first name three months ago and sent a supposedly threatening e-mail who knows how long ago. And only NOW is Sparky freaking out? I seem to recall at least one very similar round of threats that had much the same result. And the logic of threatening to report eeka to her board for something I said is still lost on me. I'm gonna have to say it's time to shit or get off the pot here. *~*~*~* Luceo non uro

One wonders what might be the result of calling up the MENTAL HEALTH BOARD and spouting off a bunch of paranoia and entitlement and lack of coping skills. Just sayin'.

OK, gang, tell me why I shouldn't just shut this bold tag off.

Well, THAT'S just a boldfaced lie! We must get to the underlining cause of this!
By sonia2 - Oct 18, 2007, 10:03 PM Post #43 of 151 [In reply to]
Scott also hijacked my old name here, which is why I left here years ago. He also posted a fake picture under my profile - which is still there now.
By triquetra - Oct 19, 2007, 7:16 AM Post #44 of 151 [In reply to]
I'm not saying Scott's never done anything he oughtn't. I'm saying that three years is a long time to let a supposed threat go without doing anything about it. There are such things as statutes of limitations and all. That said, it looks like someone's following his usual pattern of freaking out, threatening everybody he can think of, and then disappearing, to reappear in a couple months pretending nothing ever happened until someone else posts something he takes exception to. I mean, just think what he would have done if anything had actually happened? Ever? *~*~*~* Luceo non uro

Yes, you're right. I mentioned what happened to me as an example that he's not the only person who has had people here act like jerks to them, but he is the only one who has started crying lawsuits & constitutional protection, etc, etc. Didn't sparky say that his car was vandalized or something? And that he blamed people here? In a Boston forum, his town is WAY out of the way if someone really had to exact revenge, and if he's as opinionated, paranoid & offensive in real life as he is here - I'm not surprised neighbors would dislike him too.
By triquetra - Oct 19, 2007, 10:23 AM Post #46 of 151 [In reply to]
I'm still not sure what consititutional protections he thinks apply here, and I'm even more not sure what his son has to do with any of this, or why he thinks we'd care. Yeah, he said something about someone writing a word on his truck, and it's a word that only WGCers would know, therefore it was one of us who did it. I think he blamed Scott at that point. I'm not interested in looking it up in the archives at the moment. Really, though, if we're such a threat to his family, why does he keep coming back? That's what puzzles me. If I thought even my cats were endangered by my posting on a forum, much less my children, I'd...stop posting. Duh. *~*~*~* Luceo non uro

not to mention that he posted personal information about my friend's son here...he can post information about others but cry & whine when he thinks others have done this about him?
By triquetra - Oct 19, 2007, 1:04 PM Post #48 of 151 [In reply to]
Oh, but that was only to prove how you didn't really know your friend or anything, so it was OK. Yeah. What? *~*~*~* Luceo non uro

If he acts similarly offline, then yeah, there's a bunch of real people that have been offended! And who cares. It's his pile!
